If you love competing in events in Magic: The Gathering Arena, then this week’s MTG Arena Announcements are geared just for you. The next Arena Open is on its way this weekend, giving players just a few days to prepare. Just after that is the Arena Championship 3 for some fo the best Magic players in the digital game. All this and more is coming to Arena soon so let’s take a look at everything announced this week.
Arena Open Is Coming This Weekend
The latest Arena Open is closing in, launching this weekend on May 20 for the two day event. Players will can compete in both March of the Machine Draft and Sealed events to climb their way to the top.
Player who top their chosen events have the opportunity to win up to $2,000 and secure an invitation to the June Qualifier Weekend tournament next month. Every participant will walk away with a snazzy new sleeve, Archangel Awakening, depicting Elspeth’s armor with the Planeswalker symbol blazing across her armor.

Arena Championship 3 Is Almost Here
Off the heels of the Arena Open is the Arena Championship 3, bringing many of the best ranking players together in one event. This third entry to the Arena Championship series will have players competing for up to $200,000 in prizes. Qualifying players will compete across two days, May 27 to the 28, in March of the Machine Draft and Standard.
Nathan Steuer, of recent March of the Machine Pro Tour fame, will be participating in the tournament as well so make sure to check out our coverage of the Pro Tour and study those Top 8 deck lists.
