One of the best, new player friendly events is getting highlighted for this week’s Midweek Magic. Starting Tuesday this week, players will be able to compete in a free Jump In! event to try and earn some fun free rewards with some chaotic cards.
With any Jump In! event, you get two packs of half a limited deck, each one with a wildly different theme. Some themes synergize well together, while others are diametrically opposed. It’s up to you to pick the best combination of half decks to win your events.
Playing in this event gives players the chance to earn up to three prizes. The first two prizes you can earn are in the form of Rare Individual Card Rewards. These rewards can be any rare or even a mythic rare card that is currently available on Arena. The final reward is a Mystery Cosmetic pack, which most of the time will include a new card style but always has the chance for rarer rewards like avatars and pets.
This event, like all Midweek Magic events, are completely free to compete in. You can sign up for the event through the Magic: The Gathering Arena app or game client, letting you play on the go with your mobile device if you’re not at home. Midweek Magic events start every Tuesday at 2 p.m. PT and runs until Thursday at 2 p.m. PT.
Jump In! Rules
There’s not much to worry about for Jump In! events, the packs you are given have everything you need to get a complete deck. Each pack comes with an assortment of cards, most of which are fixed inclusions. Several cards have the chance to be swapped out for a different card, and you won’t know which one you’re going to get until you review your deck.
When you go to pick a pack you will be presented with three options to choose from. From those packs, there will always be at least one mono-colored selection and at least one multicolor selection for the first option, and then your second pick will adjust accordingly depending on your first choice. Your second pick will have matching colors with your first pick so your mana base won’t get too wild and inconsistent for players to enjoy.
This week’s event will have packs updated with cards from March of the Machine, giving you a chance to open up new cards including Elesh Norn, Mother of Machines, Invasion of New Phyrexia, and Rankle and Torbran.
A complete list of possible deck options and the odds of getting specific cards can be found on here.
It can be a good idea to keep this page open to review your options and figure out which work best together.
