On today’s third quarter earnings call, Hasbro CEO Brian Goldner revealed that Magic: the Gathering Arena’s release on mobile has been delayed until early 2021 in order to allow Wizards of the Coast to “fine tune” the game.
Goldner originally announced in February that Arena would arrive on mobile in 2020, and Wizards confirmed in April that they “planned” to deliver a mobile version of the game by the end of 2020.
“Just so we’re clear—this is a big one, and it’s going to take a lot of work to get us there,” Wizards said at the time. “It’s planned for 2020,” they continued, will “have cross-platform support,” and “all your cards, decks, play modes, etc” will be accessible in the mobile version of MTG Arena.
