Wizards of the Coast showed off the entire contents of Commander Collection: Green on today’s “Future of Commander” panel at CommandFest Online 2. It will be available at all Wizards Play Network stores on December 4, 2020.
Don’t miss our coverage of today’s first look at Commander Legends.
The eight cards span legendary creatures, powerful spells, and even a Planeswalker and an artifact. They are: Worldly Tutor, Sylvan Library, Sol Ring, Command Tower, Freyalise, Llanowar’s Fury, Omnath, Locus of Mana, Seedborn Muse, and Bane of Progress.
Each card has brand new art and some even have references to popular Green Planeswalkers, either in their art or in their flavor text. Wizards also took the opportunity to give the typically color neutral Command Tower and Sol Ring art and flavor text that specifically represents Green.
Commander Collection: Green will come in two versions: a regular non-foil version that will be available at all WPN stores, as well as a premium foil version that will be available exclusively at premium WPN stores. Both versions will release on December 4, 2020.
The premium version will be the first time that either Worldly Tutor or Bane of Progress have been printed in foil. When discussing their inclusion in Commander Collection: Green, Ari Nieh, lead designer of the product, said that he was actively looking for cards that had never been foil when building the card list.
Commander Collections are a Commander-focused take on the Signature Spellbook series. Rather than focusing on a specific Planeswalker and theming eight cards around them, Commander Collections take one color and selects eight cards that are important to that color in Commander. Signature Spellbooks have usually sold for around $20 so it is likely that the non-foil Commander Collections will being around that price.
