Earlier this week, Card Kingdom announced that they will be celebrating their 20th Anniversary in October with a month of giveaways, streams, events, and more.
The festivities begin on October 7, when Card Kingdom will begin including a special foil squirrel token in every order. They will begin giving away prizes ranging from booster boxes, booster packs to limited-edition pins and even custom-made Card Kingdom letterman jackets. The giveaways will drop during streams and on social media, so tune in and keep an eye out!
That same day, Card Kingdom will stream another episode of the Local Game Show on Twitch. The show will be hosted by TJ Rogers and will have four players—MTGNerdGirl, Mike Robles, Cedric Phillips, and Gavin Verhey—compete “in a battle of wits to determine what is fact and what is fiction for your entertainment.”
Other notable events include the second edition of The Chalice, an invite-only charity tournament to raise money for SeriousFun Children’s Network, on October 27. It will feature 16 prominent members of the Magic community, from content creators like the Professor and April King to Magic pros like Brad Nelson and Brian Braun-Duin, who will be raising money for three weeks ahead of the event and then competing in a series of unique formats to crown a champion.
Card Kingdom is one of the largest Magic: the Gathering retailers and operates an online store as well as two popular brick and mortar locations (called Mox Boarding House) in Seattle and Bellevue, Washington, with a third location coming to Portland, Oregon later this year. It is owned and operated by John and Damon Morris, who began the company in John’s basement in 1999 and have grown to employ nearly 300 people.
The company also has a charitable giving program called Engage, through which they run both The Gauntlet and the aforementioned Chalice charity tournaments, raising tens of thousands of dollars each year.
Note: In case it wasn’t obvious by the ads on our site, Hipsters of the Coast has a sponsorship agreement with Card Kingdom.
