The themes for the four upcoming Commander 2019 decks seem to have been revealed by a product listing by Blackfire, a European distributor. The listing says that the four decks will each be based around one four mechanics: populate, flashback, morph, and madness.
Commander 2019 is the latest installment in the successful line of pre-constructed Commander decks and will be released on August 23, 2019. It will include four 100-card decks, one foil oversized commander, and 10 double-sided tokens. Previews for Commander 2019 are scheduled to start sometime in August, making the revelation of each decks’ theme about a month ahead of schedule.
Previous Commander products are one of the most popular supplemental Magic: the Gathering products every year. Wizards of the Coast began printing this kind Commander product, featuring four to five Commander decks, in 2011. Unsurprisingly, these have been the source of many powerful and popular commanders, like Atraxa, Praetors’ Voice and Oloro, Ageless Ascetic, as well as Legacy staples like True-Name Nemesis.
