This morning, Magic streamer and caster AliasV announced the second edition of her community-focused Super Spiffy Tournament. It will take place on MTG Arena from July 13 and 14, 2019 and be streamed on Twitch. Sign ups are now open on Smash.gg and are limited to 400 people.
The Super Spiffy Tournament II will feature eight rounds of Best-of-3 Standard with swiss pairings on Saturday, July 13 starting at 9 AM Eastern. The Top 8 players will then return on Sunday, July 14 for a traditional Top 8 single-elimination bracket, with third and four place matches, as well.
The event will pay out through the Top 8 thanks to a large group of sponsors, including TCGPlayer, Inked Gaming, Flipside Gaming, Face to Face Games, Spikes Academy, and Aether Hub, with more on the way.
The Super Spiffy Tournament is one of the many tournament series that have popped up since MTG Arena entered Open Beta last year. They range from Fandom Legends’ weekly $4k series and Twitch Rivals’ $10k tournaments, all the way to the recently announced Red Bull Untapped, which will award $200k in prizes.
