On today’s Minute: An uncut foil sheet featuring most of the rares from Ixalan, Magic’s upcoming fall set, was leaked in June. Wizards wrote an article explaining how the leak occurred and officially previewed all of the spoiled cards.

This morning, Wizards of the Coast published an article confirming and explaining the story behind the foil sheet from Ixalan that was allegedly stolen and leaked in June. Scott Kelly, the Wizards Vice President in charge of the card production process, wrote that the uncut sheet was allegedly stolen by a former employee of the printing facility and was caught on video. The thief then attempted to sell the sheet online, at which point Wizards and the printing company were made aware of the theft.

Kelly said that Wizards and their printing partner worked together with law enforcement to identify the alleged thief. He has been arrested and charges are pending.

In addition to writing about the backstory of this unprecedented leak, Wizards officially previewed all of the cards that were readable in the blurry leaked photos. The previews include 48 rares and mythic rares, as well as all of the mechanics from Ixalan. Make sure to check out Hipsters coverage of all the news about Ixalan at hipstersofthecoast.com.
