Another set, another “Blur of…”
Rejoice!
The set up: I layer each card of a given set, give them equal opacity/transparency, flatten them into one layer, and auto-contrast, all in a lovely program I like to call Photoshop. The idea is that we can reveal mysteries and the collective beauty of the cards and the fantasy illustrations contained therein. Let’s get going!

Thanks for reading! See you next set!
Matt Jones used to play a lot of Magic: The Gathering but hasn’t in over a year. Now he paints as often as he can and reads a lot of poetry (Lyn Hejinian and Joshua Jennifer Espinoza are his favorites at the moment). He is an artist living and working in New York and Paris. He’s represented by Galerie Jérôme Pauchant. You can see his work at www.mattjonesrules.com. Despite no longer slinging cardboard spells, he loves looking at and thinking about fantasy art, especially the art of Magic.
